The new Kaipara Service Centre located at 32 Hokianga Road, Dargaville is a commercial space that will house local authority staff from two different Northland councils.
The building is a two storey steel structure with a reinforced concrete podium. The building footprint is regular from floor to floor with typical open-space office layout and a workshop area. The gravity structure consists of a rib and infill suspended floor system supported on steel beams and columns from the basement/ground up to the roof level.
The lateral resisting system uses the reinforced concrete topping slab in the suspended slab at the first floor as a diaphragm to transfer the lateral load out to the steel moment-resisting frames and into the cross bracing systems and a V-Brace system in the walls.
The superstructure structural elements are completed, all external windows are glazed, and the internal framing is substantially completed. Seismic restraints for the Services are in progress.
Silvester Clark are proud to be working with Northland Regional Council, Griffiths and Associates, CANAM and HB Architecture to deliver this project.
