We are excited and proud to see the foundations well underway for the new Wellington City Mission in Newtown.
An innovative hybrid structural system has been chosen for this 4 storey building which consists of a two way steel moment frame and CLT floors.
Steel moment frames were chosen to provide flexibility to a highly constrained architectural layout. CLT floors were chosen to reduce floor depth and reduce onsite carpentry. The combined system has meant a significantly reduced foundation structure while utilising off-site and prefabricated structural elements. Watch this space as this structure is going to go up quickly!
